Garlic Butter Grilled Oyster

Ingredients

  • 1 dozen fresh oysters

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the minced garlic and chopped parsley. Set aside.

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  • Carefully shuck the oysters using a shucking knife, keeping the oysters on the half shell. Place them on a tray to keep them steady.

  • Place the oysters directly on the preheated grill, ensuring they are level so the juices do not spill out. Grill for about 3-4 minutes, just until the edges of the oysters start to curl.

  • Using a pastry brush, carefully brush the garlic-parsley butter onto each oyster. Sprinkle a little Parmesan cheese over each one.

  • Close the grill lid and continue grilling for another 3-4 minutes, until the butter is bubbling and the cheese is melted and golden.

  • Remove the oysters from the grill using tongs and place them on a serving platter. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
