Air Fryer Cotija Garlic Wings w/ jalepeno Crema
Ingredients
Wings
2 lbs chicken wings, separated
1 tbsp pink garlic powder
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp seasoned salt
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 cup Cotija cheese, crumbled
2 cloves garlic, minced
Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Jalapeno crema
1 large jalapeño, seeds removed and chopped
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
Juice of 1 lime
Zest of 1 lime
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the pink garlic powder, ground ginger, seasoned salt, red pepper flakes, and cornstarch. Add the chicken wings and toss until evenly coated.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking, until the wings are crispy and golden brown.
While the wings are cooking, combine the chopped jalapeño, sour cream, red onion, lime juice, and lime zest in a small blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl. Add the minced garlic and crumbled Cotija cheese, tossing to coat the wings evenly.
Arrange the wings on a serving platter. Garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve immediately with the creamy jalapeño sauce on the side.
