Air Fryer Cotija Garlic Wings w/ jalepeno Crema

Ingredients

Wings

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, separated

  • 1 tbsp pink garlic powder

  • 1 tsp ground ginger

  • 1 tsp seasoned salt

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1/2 cup Cotija cheese, crumbled

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

    Jalapeno crema

  • 1 large jalapeño, seeds removed and chopped

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • Zest of 1 lime

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the pink garlic powder, ground ginger, seasoned salt, red pepper flakes, and cornstarch. Add the chicken wings and toss until evenly coated.

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking, until the wings are crispy and golden brown.

  • While the wings are cooking, combine the chopped jalapeño, sour cream, red onion, lime juice, and lime zest in a small blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

  • Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl. Add the minced garlic and crumbled Cotija cheese, tossing to coat the wings evenly.

  • Arrange the wings on a serving platter. Garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve immediately with the creamy jalapeño sauce on the side.
